I really hope that KJl comes to realise the complete lack of humour in such a situation. Intolerance of this nature is cruel and dehumanizing. I can only hope that his perpetrators are punished to the full extent of the law. Poor man, I hope he recovers soon.

One of the concerns is that this issue isn't being taken seriously by local law enforcement. The guy and his friends are making sure this gets a lot of attention though, so hopefully those involved will get punished regardless of if local police WANT to do it or not.
And the funny thing is, in Texas, where the most macho of men live, you would think that there would be a double standard for lesbians being approved over gay men.
Nope, they are treated like shit nearly on par as the men, except the men unfortunately get more brutal attacks upon them.

"Macho"ness isn't the culprit, Christian fundamentalism is the culprit. So it's understandable that anyone out of the sexual preference norm is attacked.
On the plus side, the Christian fundamental groups are at least slowly loosing members.
