bbc and the guardian in the uk has covered bitcoin a fair bit, mainly like some dude left $9m of bitcoins in a hard drive and then threw it away, or a guy who bought $20 worth of bitcoins and forgot about them and now theyre worth $2m, that kind of stories
they also always neglect to mention that there is literally nowhere that would actually convert that many bitcoins to real money, at least that was my awareness, before i stopped caring about bitcoins. but i guess you could buy a whole lot of drugs with $9m
and tbf to the guardian i remember they ran a small thing about bitcoin like several years ago, like when it really was p small and i had only vaguely heard of it even on the internet
There used to be a bitcoin-only bazaar website called Silk Road that was mainly used to buy and sell drugs. But that's been shut down, and I don't know of any other major sites which allow the purchase of physical goods using bitcoin. Oh wait, Silk Road is back up now apparently.
