After that argument with Whale and how generally inadequate I am at defending my case in these scenarios. I'm starting to both doubt and Internally Categorize myself as being a bad person for my values. I'm not sure which is worse. Being demonized for them or being ridiculed. I feel like raging against the reflection. I have naught to do about it. I absolutely refuse to forfeit my principles nevertheless I'm starting to feel alone. If laissez-faire economics, individual liberty, personal responsibility, minarchism, and autarchy are truly impracticable there is nowhere else for me to derive hope in civilization.

Autarchy and Autocracy are not the same thing in case that's where you're going and if you're right on the economic front then I'm not sure where to derive any hope from. You can't have individual liberty and personal responsibility without a free market. Once you give the state the power to run the economy you give them the power to control social and personal expression. As much as you like to think oth erwise the two can not be done seperetly, to think otherwise is plain denial. The very notion of socialism and the welfare state for example pretty much removes individual responsibility and says "You don't have to try to succeed we'll do it for you".

CA: Ever since Freezy and i started talking again, my presence on the TVT forums has dwindled accordingly, and it fell through the floor once we moved our serious discussions to dA. I practically only read the Heap there and the MSPA thread, and that's if I can remember to do it.

I think I'm going to limit my Yack Fest presence to the LGBT and Jammies threads. And the Trash Heap in the morning hours, 'cause it's thread really active when I get up for school and usually Imi and Naney Pinkamena Diane Pie are on around that time anyway.

There was a period once when the site started grating on me and I tried to limit my YF presence to the LGBT and Avatars threads.

The Trash Heap was getting on my nerves. I liked a lot of its regulars, but not the thread itself so much then.

I'm not really sure I"ll miss most of the forums at this point. The administrivia boards are like the Wikipedia administrator's noticeboard without any of the entertainment value; I don't really read Writer's Block or any of the media boards except the MSPA thread in Webcomics; and the megathreads all suck now except for the Heap.

I never really felt like I fit in at the Old Folks' Home (indeed, it seems like it's more of a teachers' lounge for the mods than an actual board), and OTC I could write a multi-page thesis on, but NO FUCK THAT. -hussie-dances-

Even at the height of my enjoyment of the forums (say, last spring or so) I only really posted in Yack Fest, and even then only in a handful of threads.

I remember trying to shake it up with OTC standing in for IJBM (as I grew tired of IJBM2. OTC's threads tended to have the same subject matter of religion, politics, social issues and military matters), but that didn't last.

There was a time when I could F5 Latest Forum Posts and be able to read pretty much everything in a reasonable amount of time. Then that stopped working around the time IJBM got popular, so I just read any thread that looked interesting. Eventually, it just got to the point last fall where I stopped bothering (partially because I mainly read the Heap, partially because I really didn't want to read OTC), and just stuck to reading the megathreads and, eventually, just the Heap and maybe Romance or Fetishes if they weren't fucking arguing over something. :P

Norway,Denmark and Sweden have a giant welfare state yet they have greater social mobility than the United States so you're just denying reality because it contradicts your libertarian mindset
