So, seeing that we apparently don't have a general thread for this (the closest thing I could find was a thread on Frog Fractions), so I found this thread in the name of cheap, cheap-as-free and innovative gameplay
So, here's the first recommendation list:
Treasure Adventure Game: A 2D platformer. You're a kid with a hook hand, and you sail around looking for artifacts of great power. So, a bit like Wind Waker
Mega Man: A Day in the Limelight 1 & 2: The first game allows you to play bosses from Mega Man 1 against bosses from Mega Man 2. The second (and superior) one does the same with 2 and 3.
An Untitled Story: You're an Egg. A platformer in a hand-drawn universe. Other games from the maker were featured in Super Meat Boy. Fairly Difficult
Exit Fate: An RPG in the vein of Suidoken. One of the best stories that I've seen in an indie game. Really long, really good.

so is PoE.
Frog Fractions is a browser game that I can best describe as a slowly-unwinding psychedelic ball of what-the-fuckery that initially disguises itself as a Missile Command clone. Very worth your time.
you can get all of these games for a dollar.
Personally, I think the bundle is worth buying just for Paranautical Activity. Never heard of any of the other games there (except Karateka, which is mediocre).
Eleusis sounds interesting, if we can get 20,000 total purchases on it. (I haven't bought yet and am waiting for the last reveal.)
Also, An Untitled Story is fairly hard; I'd play it on easy difficulty.
