There was an awesome Italian sandwich shop within a ten-minute walk of my house, but they changed owners and then went out of business.
I miss you, awesome sandwich shop. So close to the library. So convenient. So delicious.
._.
Are you me? Seriously, there was this awesome New York Delicatessen that was 5 minute drive away from my house. They had the best subs I've ever tasted and a great spinach and feta pasta. They went out of business too.
Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
There's a good sandwich place down the street from my school called Which Wich. Their whole shtick is that you take a paper bag with a list of sandwiches, and you fill in the bubbles with what sandwich you want, what size, what condiments, toasted or not toasted, etc. It's more expensive than Subway, but the food is awesome. Plus, the workers there have been pretty friendly every time I've come.
In fact, I think they recognize me as one of their regulars because thanks to my one-man boycott of the school cafeteria, I end up eating there about once a week.
There's two sandwich shops on campus here. One's a Subway; it's further from me. The other's a shop operated by the company that does the rest of the dining services, and it's closer. Both offer $5 subs.
I get sweet onion sauce from Subway when I can because it's rare that I ever head over there.
There's a Subway across the street from my office in Arlington, but here in Woodbridge, I hardly ever go there because Wawa doesn't require a left turn at a slow light to get to. Also, we have Sheetz a little further away, and they have fries. XD

Subways are everywhere around here.
I once walked 5 blocks from the courthouse to go eat at Subway, then realized on my way back that there was another Subway only half a block from the courthouse and I'd never noticed it because they're so commonplace.
I've mostly Subway'd my way out of really ever wanting it again as an undergrad, since there were, like, three on UNC's campus alone and they were in convenient places.
I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
There are six Subways within 20 minutes of my house.
One is on Green Valley Ranch Boulevard, another is in the Green Walmart around Tower Road, there is another not very far from there, there is one by the Kmart on Colfax Avenue, there is another one further down Chambers Road in the City Center Marketplace, and there is one in the food court in the Town Center at Aurora.

Speaking of wich.
I had my first Jimmy John's today, and maybe it was because I just grabbed a sandwich as listed on the menu without requesting additional toppings, but it was bland and the franchise should just die.
^ ^ Yes it is but unfortunately I didn't think of suing the company at that time...that was dumb of me. Also, it's the reason I'll never eat there again.

the Subway in the town where I live is actually one of the nicest places to eat around here. I can't say the same for every Subway though.
