Moon Trolls are blue-skinned, rough-hided creatures with long, carrotlike noses and large black claws. They may wear crude armor constructed of moon rock, but generally not.
Moon Trolls reproduce via budding, as all trolls do.
One of the strangest of the elemental embodiments, Blood Elementals are thin, ropy humanoids with no real distinct features, aside from the vaguest impression of a face somewhere near their "head". Blood Elementals are brought into the physical plane through the means of interdimensional gates, and their presence is usually the sign of one or more powerful summoners, though sometimes naturally-occurring rifts can bring them to our world instead.
Blood Elementals have a rudimentary, primitive command of all the elemental schools, making their attacks often a form of chaos magic. They also (unsurprisingly) have a powerful repertoire of blood magic spells.
Spell List:
Aura of Chaos: The caster buffs themselves with an aura of pure, roiling chaotic magic. All attacks made by the caster while under the effect of this aura deal an additional 1d20 of a random type of damage. The effect persists for 1d10 rounds, and does not stack. [MP: 80] [Range: Self]
Roil Lash: The caster creates a powerful whip of chaotic energy, and flings it at an enemy, dealing 1d20 of a random type of damage, and 1d20 of another random type. [MP: 40] [Range 3: Line]
Blood Magic
Bloodburn: The caster targets an enemy creature and boils off some of its blood. The effect is incredibly painful and has a 40% chance to incapacitate the target for 1d4 rounds. The effect also deals 2d12 Fire damage. [MP: 60] [Range: Any LOS]
Acidic Blood: The Blood Elemental converts its body to acidic, burning blood. All attacks made by the Elemental while under this effect deal an additional 2d12 Acid Damage. This effect lasts 1d6 rounds, and does not stack. [MP: 80] [Range: Self]
Abilities:
Bloodmana: The Blood Elemental is treated as having the Left-Handed Spellcasting passive.
Blood Magic User: The Blood Elemental is treated as a Blood Witch for the purposes of spell targeting.
Acid Immunity: The Blood Elemental is immune to Acid Damage.
No, but except for a few special cases, you have to be proficient in the relevant school of magic to use them effectively (what school they correspond to is determined by their crystals), and they tend to have very limited ammo. You'll start possibly seeing them as soon as the next floor, since that's when I add weapons and armor to the treasure tables.
Wait, if they have magic drivers, would they have ever discovered black powder?
Also, how strong is a magic driver compared to a musket?
They have discovered black powder but it's not used in drivers. They operate on channeled bolts of magic and are powered by crystals which act as a sort of battery. Said crystals also determine what kind of damage the drivers do and what school one should be proficient in to use them (you can use drivers you're not proficient with, but they eat through the ammo much more quickly).
Some unique drivers also operate a bit differently, and the odd branded driver will override the element of whatever crystal is in it (a Driver of Flaming will always fire flame attacks), but those are pretty rare just because of how i set the tables up.
Drivers also always have a chance (between 1-20% depending on the driver's quality) to simply not fire when the trigger is pulled.
Most drivers resemble pistols, though there is a large two-handed version, but those are used more like melee weapons (think a bardiche or something similar), and are far rarer.
Well, yeah. I was thinking that it was railgun like in that the propulsion system is based on energy channeled through the weapon instead of the 'propulsion through tiny explosion' that most guns use. I guess the magic driver would be closer to the sci-fi laser pistol than the rail gun, but railgun came to my mind first
Though, to be fair, I may not understand how railguns work either, and I'm pretty wonky in the head right now.
Now that I think about it, the bit with the crystals reminds me of how lightsabers are made in Star Wars.
Can we eventually end up making our own crystals and/or drivers?
I suppose I should make it clear that there is no crafting in this game whatsoever except rudimentary stuff that doesn't usually do much. None of you are weapon or armorsmiths.
Theory: Make an NPC who's like Nathan, but boring. Instead of being manic about breaking order, she's manic about really orderly things. Like library books, or clean windowpanes.
And then have her fall in love with him and drag him everywhere to do boring stuff until he calms down.

Comments
maybe later.
I'm kind of having a shitty day. I'm not in the mood for roleplaying right now.
"Blood magic. You cast from health. Simple. So why do people freak out about it?"
"I set myself on fire today, diary. On a related note, Bolt of Fire is NOT a good spell to try to read by"
Note to self. Do not use a barrier as a footstool when trying to reach the top of a shelf. The mess takes hours to clean up.
I am never drinking mlik molk wilk unhomogenized carbohydrate organic lactose-based icky fluids.
Nobody even nos its maid maed waade composition.
Thats just rong.

and take their weapons leaving them dead
Honestly I've kept information on that minimal for a couple reasons. Mostly because I don't want to set things in stone before they become relevant.

Alternative Deal: Give us an in-depth description of Moon Trolls and their mating practices.

Moon Trolls reproduce via budding, as all trolls do.
You know, before he ends up resorting to leaving the academy then coming back with an army of undead slime goblin overlords from the fourth dimension
example:
-----
Blood Elemental
Nathan's To Do List:
-See if the dungeon detects a party of humabs or just the Bluestone Rings
-Find a Nurse
-Find the Priest
-Hide evidence of the murder
"Goblins do not taste good"
Well then
*sets all the beds ever on fire*

They're not off-limits, right?

Not really? Unless I don't understand how railguns work at all.
They fire bolts of magical energy. They don't use any physical ammunition at all.
Also, is it possible to have a fire spell that fires a high powered laser?

hypothetically. hmm, that's a fair comparison.>Self propelled mecha spider
>Made it himself
Jus' saiyan
idk.
I haven't really felt up to it lately and I have no idea how to resolve this stuff Nathan keeps doing, so whenever we get through that I guess.
idk.
