I did, and they agreed with me. commentary is shit, that's why mainstream directors do not include it in the theatrical reels at movie theaters, and make it optional content.
that reminds me of the worst commentary of all time
on the Criterion Collection definitive edition of The Seven Samurai there's two commentaries, one by Michael Jeck alone (which is pretty good), and the other commentary with 5 different film scholars/historians taking one fifth of the movie. 4 out of the 5 have good things to say, but there's this lady, Joan Mellen, who rambles off this repetitive, shallow assessment of the film in this kinda choppy monotone.

Raocow is, in my opinion, one of few people who can actually pull off the whole "I'M SO WACKY AND RANDOM! :D" thing.
I kinda envy him in some regard, because he's so secure with his own silliness...he's silly and he doesn't care who knows he's silly.
That said, I can understand why one might find his videos annoying.
95% of LPers are boring as shit because "meaningful commentary" is exactly what they try to do, which is usually just pointing out the obvious.
I think I already noted that I seem to be looking for something different from Let's Plays, compared to some other people here. I watch LPs generally to become more informed about games I haven't played or seen in action before, to get a better sense of whether I should go check them out and possibly buy and play them.
If you're looking to be entertained by wackiness, snark, or other unusual commentary, or heck, if you're even paying attention to who's who in terms of LP community celebrities, then chances are you're into a whole 'nother ballgame.
