I knew they'd adopted the name, but I didn't think they'd actually use it in any official media.
@Whale, I completely don't get any of the MTG jokes or references. They fly right over my head.
And NOBODY GETS MY REFERENCES ;_;
Except Imi did once. (I should start a Sherlock Holmes thread, except it would probably end up discussing Sherlock, which I haven't seen yet and my DVD is in England.)
Equestria block isn't that farfetched considering they're both owned by Hasbro and they've done joke blocks twice already and I think they intend to do more at some point in the future.
It's still pretty farfetched and I'm pretty sure it wouldn't go over well, but I wouldn't have my perceptions of reality shattered if it happened. I imagine it'd be more likely for them to design a mock-up of an announcement for the fake set for April Fool's Day.
In any case, I know from experience that a disproportionate number of MTG players are fans, so even if the market would be small, it would certainly be there.
Well, a "spark" did awaken in her in the first episode. In the MTG multiverse, planewalker sparks often come to those in extreme danger or stress and awaken planeswalker abilities. It's not hard to draw a connection if you want.
Oh god, there would be so much rage. If even one of them was playable in Legacy, ponies would likely be a permanent fixture of the game in every non-rotating format. Also, they'd be a canonical part of the multiverse unless there was some sloppy retcon. It's probably even less likely, because the coupling of those IPs might cause legal issues if Hasbro wanted to sell one or the other, but I'm not a lawyer.
Not that the prospect of intense nerd rage at ponies doesn't strike me as entertaining, but there are legitimate flavor concerns. Also, the people working on the show might object to setting their characters in a crazy violent and disturbing environment in any official way.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
^^ For some reason I thought this came right after you posted that, but apparently it was unrelated.
Anyone else read Fallout Equestria? I binged about half of it today, it's oddly compelling even though all the pony gorn, especially early on, was almost enough to turn me away.
You know, I remember back around before season two that some fans were paranoid that the show would start pandering to the older and more male demographic with stuff like toilet humor.
Now we have two episodes in a row where those bodily functions have been directly and plainly referenced, and the sky has yet to fall.
I just realized that a yuri doujin I was reading was about....humanized ponies. I didn't notice this until I saw the girl with purple hair turn her head, to where I saw the Twilight stripe, and then I looked at the redhead she was seducing and her pink bow....

Well, that is the magic of friendship Really, you're not the only non-brony on the forum. And if you were, no one would care.

I'm a massive Doctor Who fan and there's all this Steven Moffat television I've never watched.
No Haven, for that position you need to be called Matt Smith, Alex Kingston, Mark Gattiss or Benedict Cumberbatch.
(This would in fact be the way to get me to actually play MTG)
Well then, I--
*Haven already posted my video*
Goddammit.

Does somebody get elected to sockpuppet a character to do that?
