I mean, why do we not have every image of a cow ever posted in this thread, so we can analyze them all, average the features, and create the ideal cow image?
They did it with 10,000 human faces to create an average face.
It was observed that the more faces you averaged, the more average a face you got, and the more beautiful and angelic-looking it was; in that human aesthetics of beauty is based upon the ideal average of the human form. The androgynous figure of figures, everyone and nobody.
Also, what is weird is it all tended towards a very similar face every time they tried it, as if all beauty was derived from one face that we're just trying to approximate.
But, then again, that was in one of my old out-of-print textbooks, the kind that say all sorts of stupid pseudoscience, so I dunno.
I mean, it had that old "Left-handed people are the result of one twin absorbing another" thing, and phrenology and the "Red-haired people feel slightly less pain than other people" thing.
But, at least, the average-izer-inator-tron-amatrope-9000 technology does exist.
Humanity, in general, considers certain face traits as beautiful. Traits like symmetry, and parts of the face being separated from other parts of the face with measurements evoking the golden ratio.
I don't think that technology can be applied to cows though. I mean, we could make the perfect cow for humans, maybe. But the perfect cow for cows?
I got/get to sit on all the old unused damaged textbooks in school (being short is awesome); so I've read loads of random crap. I wished I'd recorded the titles and things so I could look up the books.
As-is, that book is either still a student-helping-to-sit-higher-if-they-are-short; or one of the many old textbooks that get cut up by students to make art projects in art class.

Cows are made to appeal to cows, so if we average the cow, we should find the most appealing cow for cows. Besides, the golden ratio is a universal thing, really, what with crab shells and dandelions and sunflowers and trees and beehives all exhibiting it. Don't see why it wouldn't be appealing to cows.

Sadly, nope.

They're cows. Strange, if benevolent, beasts who cannot be predicted.
Or maybe analyzing the tones in the moo sound and turning that into numbers and ratios?
Or just test it with cows?

Of course, cow testing should also work. Construct the cow, 3d print it and see how it does during mating season.
What spot patterns would be best?
