It did work, as long as you remem8ered to keep changing the sand to a finer grade.

Cool. My brother was into rocks for a bit. But this mostly manifested as getting a few books that would come with rock samples.

I had, and still have somewhere, a collection of various cut and polished rocks. Mostly different ag8s, though I 8elieve I've got a piece of petrified wood in there too.

I did not cut and polish them myself; I inherited them from my gr8 grandfather when I was little.

Ha, I guess I wasn't the only kid obsessed with rocks and rock collecting. I think I still have my rock tumbler and I only used it once. It took so long for a single batch of rocks to be finished. For awhile as a kid, I would collect in kind of rock or object that looked like a rock. This did result in quite a few piece of concrete and glass, though.
