Why do IRC clients insist on logging messages from NickServ?

<NickServ> This nickname is registered. Please choose a different nickname, or identify via /msg NickServ identify <password>.
<NickServ> You have 30 seconds to identify to your nickname before it is changed.
<NickServ> You are now identified for CentralAve.

It's bad enough that I have to see that nonsense every time I log on, but I don't need you saving dozens of text files with it!

That text is negligible in size, seriously.  Unless you're using a computer with only a few gigs of hard drive space.
  • You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
I know that, but it's still annoying. It adds unnecessary clutter when I'm looking through my logs, if nothing else.
  • Fine, fair enough.
I find them to be useful "spacing" to show when I've logged on or not.
Though I don't currently log because my IRC client is a bit buggy.
  • robert@gensokyo:~/irclogs/rizon$ du -h nickserv.log
    240K    nickserv.log
    Not bad at all.

Is there a HH irc channel or something? I'm a big IRC junkie
