Doctor Who reference in Pokemon B2W2? Headcanon accepted.
During dinner one night in Tokyo I explained to everyone at the table that one time I showed a stoner friend of mine an episode of Lucky Star and his reaction
^^Amazing, considering that, apparently, nothing really happens in that series.
See that's what did it
My stoned friend was all "what the fuck -- all they do is talk about fuckin' FOOD" and then whenever that one character talks about how she names that one chicken and egg dish "the relative bowl" his mind was shattered

also, I did enjoy Lucky Star. I think as far as that sort of comedy goes ("slice of life" is a fucking retarded label and I refuse to use it) it's pretty funny
I don't understand how Lucky*Star got its reputation as a show for pedophiles and such.
I mean it's pretty obviously a comedy.
also the other day I had a friend suggest to me that there should be an otaku rapper named Lucky $tar. Considering that of all four or so otaku rappers that exist, only one is even sort of good (that'd be Richie Branson), I could not agree with her suggestion.
Usually I understand anime characters' faces to be artistically simplified versions of real people's appearances. As such, I mentally "interpret" their faces by assigning to them an equivalent realistic face...something like that. It's not exactly like that, but it's close.
Konata's face is the first face I've seen for which I could come up with no realistic analogue.

everyone at the table was dying laughing
I don't know who that is or what significance that has, but OK.
This guy. He does Point Man's Mind, anime commentaries like these, and Let's Plays. Pretty cool guy, I think, if heavily opinionated.

allow me to paraphrase what I am 99% sure is the entirety of that video:
"BAAAAAAAAAAAW MOE CANCER!!!!!1 not enuff EXPLOSIONS in this ANIMAY"
Lucky Star isn't saccharine, it's high school characters sitting around and talking about food
that's it
really
I'm not kidding, that's all they do
that's news to me
most of the anger I've seen be directed at it is over its observational humor and unlike Azumanga, it never deviates from that for a second
I heard a rumor that there might be a season 2 of Lucky Star in the works but that's only rumor
I thought there were two seasons.
Anyway, they do do other stuff. Like replicate famous shampoo commercials.
The art style doesn't bug me too much, it did squishy and candy-colored before everyone else was doing squishy and candy-colored.
Only other show that gets away with that particular art style is Nichijou, imo.
maybe.
Nichijou also likes to shift art style every couple minutes, tho
