Even if they where cherry picking the best ones, I'd still be pretty OK with it.

I would, however, feel a bit cheated if they where just randomly typing things and submitting it.

I think that they cherry-picked the most amusing or cryptic excerpts.

Really, the fact that the feed was run by an actual person makes it funnier to me in some respects, but the fact that the people in question did some really questionable things to keep it a secret is rather disappointing.

What I think's most disappointing to me is that Bear Stearns Bravo is kinda shit, and that they want me to pay money for something that's not good enough to warrant it.

Numbers stations are probably some Cold War holdover spy nonsense, or else some kind of dubious radio testing method. Not likely to be any kind of hoax, given how long the phenomena has been around.
