I find the word "depressing" curious when people use it to describe stories, because it seems that this term is a favorite go-to descriptor for stories that are not "happy" enough. I never quite understood it, but maybe that is because I am weird? Anyway, I find Intrepid Girlbot delightful. :]
It's not bad, it's just quite sad, in my opinion.
But I did not get very far in before stopping, I seem to have problems reading comics that lack dialogue. Regardless of how important the dialogue actually is.
Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
One of the best comics I've ever read - The Arrival - is completely free of dialogue, which is the point, because it makes you pay more attention to the facial expressions and the surroundings.
And that makes it so much better, because every detail and drawing is nothing less than beautiful. Even the language used is completely made-up.
I'm well aware that that's my own shortcoming, not the comic's.
For some reason I need at least a semblance of words (they do not have to even mean anything, or indeed, be written in any actual language) for me to pay attention, there just needs to be script of some kind on the page.
I have literally never heard anyone say a single positive thing about Ctrl+Alt+Del
anyway
I think the importance of the art depends on what kind of comic it is. It's obviously always pretty important, but if you have an incredibly flat story or unfunny jokes, the art's not going to carry it.

"I have literally never heard anyone say a single positive thing about Ctrl+Alt+Del"
To be fair, I cherry picked that one after hitting the random button a bunch of times. Some of his comics are, let's say, "mildly amusing", but it's just not my cup-o-tea.
There's much worse than Ctrl-Alt-Del out there, that's for sure.
Doctor Who reference in Pokemon B2W2? Headcanon accepted.
You're going to have exceptions, like xkcd. And then there's Dinosaur Comics which handles its gimmick so incredibly well that it more than deserves a pass. For the most part, though, I think comics should be like a 90-95% visual storytelling medium first and something like Zap Comix #1 being comics in their most raw form.

I'm sure "Faith Mouse" has a devoted fan-base of born agains and die-hard Republicans.
Not sure about any of the others...
I'll give Buckley some credit, his art has come a long way, and aside from the "mouths are always open" thing, I can't really find much fault with it, but I'm not really an artist myself.
I think he gets a lot of hate out of hype-backlash and the whole miscarriage debacle, but I wouldn't call Ctrl-Alt-Del terrible.

I've talked back and forth with Dan Lacey several years ago. Very, very nice man. He's also kind of turned around and isn't a superconservative anymore. In fact the last time I heard, he's renounced all politics.
He also gave 11.975MHz a nice endorsement at some other site some years ago. Dan Lacey is a good guy.
actually pretty much everything Zoom Comics puts out seems to be pretty manga.
I think Amazing Agent Jennifer actually is a manga. Either that or a very good mockup of one.
This is rich, the archive ends right here. That is literally the last page. I'm not sure if the author just stopped updating or if I'm expected to buy the rest.
Also apparently this is a tie-in to Amazing Agent Luna, which I have heard of but never read.
Like I said, this seems to be the kind of thing that Zoom specializes in. The only one that's not totally you-could-mistake-this-for-manga is Eerie Cuties, which is slightly more western.
As I said, I think Amazing Agent Jennifer actually is manga.

I don't know why that is.

Well that is surprising, considering that most of the place is composed entirely of a thick layer of snow and ice.
But what do I know.

so I discovered the holy grail of a western webcomic artist who can actually draw in a manga style.

Assassin poems, Poems that shoot
guns. Poems that wrestle cops into alleys
and take their weapons leaving them dead
that thing's big though. I spent a good ten minutes going down a single tunnel
and yet, I know that someone's going to have a map of the whole thing posted by Friday.
Today's xkcd is wonderful.
Someone should recreate the map in Knytt Stories.

If I remember Knytt correctly, there's no way he'd be able to jump up that mountain on the left.
