Naney teaches you to derbstep

Set your DAW to 140 BPM in 4/4 time, the kick (Preferably a 909 sample)
goes on the first step, the snare goes on the 9. Place hi-hats and
various percs in triplets to taste. For the bass, use a square wave (*Or
2 detuned ones*) and route it through 3 buses. On the first
bus put a low pass filter and filter out everything but the low end and
compress that. On the second, filter out everything but the mids, and
throw on some distortion. the third bus should just have the highs,
distort those and add some reverb.
then route those three buses into one bus, and put a low pass filter with
an LFO on that. then, grab a trance-y synth preset for a lead.

Here, all the shit you'll need to do this (*Free*): Glitch plugin, adds interest to your repetitive drops, A bunch of good VSTs, My fave drum sample pack (*Grab the free download*) (*Here are two more*)

Oh, and you should use a minor key. No need for a chord progression or anything though.

And now you know.

  • I shall keep this in mind once I pirate legally acquire FL Studio on my Mac. My laptop's too little and weeny to show everything on screen at once, and also it's kind of choppy whenever FL plays musical things.

    So. Thanks! :)
