It's intelligently written, but they lost me at 3:50.
The phenomenon criticized is a pretty exasperating one, but robot guy is a pretty horrible stereotype and one I'm really sick of by now. I think they're missing the actual nature of the problem (insularity within certain academic fields combined with pedagogic philosophies that simply differ significantly from those expected and preferred in most other contexts) in favour of scoring points by insulting people they don't understand.
Hermeneutics is the study of how communication should be interpreted. Like asking how and to what extent do people's prejudices affect their interaction, or whether an author's perspective on their book is inherently the most valid.
Although the video is talking about a specific type of hermeneutics (Heideggerian) that gets debated a lot, hence the ensuing philosophical argument.
(I feel kind of out of my depth in this kind of thread but they involve things that I'm aware should concern me a lot. I should probably read Harman because honestly I found myself sympathizing with the zebra.)

Oh, I know that. I just don't understand what "the study of how communication should be interpreted" covers. It seems to cover a lot of things that I'd consider unrelated.

I've had this explained to me a number of times and still don't get it.

In retrospect, the voice I gave the zebra was a bit too condescending.
