Hot takes about the failure of Quibi are so bizarre to me because, like...from the moment that Quibi was announced, any normal consumer who heard about it knew it was a stupid idea and would be doomed to failure. It's only people who are way too deep in the entertainment industry who have any reason to think Quibi's failure was any more complicated than the simple reasons so many people made fun of it when it first launched.
I was listening to My Brother My Brother & Me a few weeks ago and the guest they had on (they do that occasionally) was some comedian who had a show on Quibi and he said he was a little upset because so many people seemed to want it to fail, and you know, god bless that guy, but I think people mostly just thought it was funny because it was so self-evidently For Nobody.

This. Like, just make a regular series for Netflix or Hulu or, if you're just going to do short skit-like stuff, put it on YouTube or something? Making it subscription-only is just fucking stupid.

The weirdest thing is no one brought back old-timey serials always ending on cliffhangers for it

Like that would have been my pitch
DreamWorks Animation effectively owned Rocky and Bullwinkle too!
