I'm going to make my own edgy magical girl show. The main character discovers she's a magical girl and she immediately uses her powers solely for personal gain. When the companion creature points out that she's not actually been saving anybody from the monsters terrorizing the town, she buys an assault rifle on the dark web and just shoots the monsters before going back to using her powers to cheat at a casino.

That said, stories where the protagonist is self-centered and narcissistic and manipulates people to get their way, leaving the audience to root for them even though they're in the wrong, are my favorite genre of edgy fiction.

sidenote: your making a thing of your anime commentary is making me want to get in the hobby as well, though i think i'd have a problem where i just wouldn't generate content at a fast enough rate due to not watching that quickly, and my content would probably not be of interest to many people. besides, it's not even reviews; it's more just scattered opinions and thoughts i'd like to share

Also it makes it significantly harder to market the weapons, which is one of the reasons Bandai gives Precure the big ¥
