I have tons of nightmares that would make good SCPs, but I don't bother just because the people who run the foundation are so picky about what they allow on the site.

That's why you run the basic idea by them first, then develop it

One idea I have will be based on something I made, so it would be a bit backwards (usually the image is selected for the SCP :3)

Yes, but most of the ideas run by them never make it past the "ideas run by them" stage, you realize.
