I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
Yeah
They had to re-awaken Star Wars but I feel like Marvel Studios would have kept going more or less the same had the company remained independent (as one of the last non-Big Media owners of top-tier entertainment franchises though, it's difficult to imagine that)
Also I'm thinking now of how social media would have exploded over the prospect of Looney Tunes and The Flintstones under the same roof back in 1995 - when the Marvel organization and its washed-up properties were knocking on death's door, and Star Wars was old hat
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Weren't people anxiously awaiting the Star Wars prequels in 1995?
People were pretty excited for the prequels if they grew up on the originals. I mean, I was young then, but I was alive, and while I understand that disappointment with The Phantom Menace was not insignificant, it didn't really reach a crescendo until the internet riff reviewer craze.

Jaime Weinman and Peter Paltridge both say that back in the mid '90s, Star Wars was red-not
@Section42L ?
I thought the revival didn’t start until the re-releases in 1997.
I remember two of my cousins anxiously taking about it: "Did you hear they started filming the new Star Wars movie? This is gonna be great!"
I felt bad for them, later on
