Gag title, serious discussion I hope (at least some of the time)
When The Doctor met Donna, he was surprised that she had no memory of various highly public events of the past, including giant space ships, Cybermen, and Daleks. She had flimsy excuses for missing those things, but even so she should have heard secondhand accounts.
Then when The Doctor met grown-up Amy, he was similarly surprised that she didn't know what a Dalek was. (Or was that Clara...)
Did The Doctor (and, by extension, we the audience) ever get an explanation for this? Or is this a dangling plot thread yet to be addressed? Or is it moot since Amy rebooted the universe?

I think Donna was just not very observant.
