You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
It is weird to hear such short hip-hop tracks for me, because normally I expect longer elaborations on ideas like these, but some of these actually really work as tiny little sketches.
It's been a long year so far, and as I grow older--very conscious of the fact that by hip-hop producer standards I am already ancient at 23--I find that most years are far too long and far too short. Yet, I can not (and will not) stop producing. Every clunk of a drum or whistle of a synthesizer is a reminder that there are good, pure things left in this world still, and if I can craft a few of them from dancehall hits and anime and "Dusty Fingers" and Sum 41, maybe I can make the years a little *brighter* if not longer or shorter.
So once again, from my keys to your ears, the fine minds at Diamondfish bring you a selection of harvested mushrooms for your aural dissection and enjoyment. I am pleased to report that I am very happy with this record, which has been in the works for some time.
some background: FL studio now has a demo version of this neat lil' roland-y bass synthesizer with a built-in sequencer that interacts in weird ways with the piano roll?
The Blackbox Ravetool series are light "anything goes" themed electronic EPs, whose central concept centers around implied narratives of the goings-on at a fictional nightclub in rural Pennsylvania.
This entry is a four part build-up. The intro leading into the early high of "Ominous Canopy #9", and then climaxing with "Ravekiller 1997", to be brought down and out on a blissful light-wave by "Capture The Flag"
