Magic Planet and Magic Planet 2 are gonna go up on Bandcamp as a compilation album sometime this week, shortly afterwards I'll be deleting them from soundcloud.
The more interesting announcement, and this is Heap-exclusive information, is that a collaborative tape with rapper Flowzus is in the works. No title yet, and the ball's in his court as far as album artwork, etc.
But I wanted to tell someone, cuz keeping that secret was killin' me.
so I've gots a question, maybe someone can help me out here
is there any place where I could upload some songs and have them be listenable but not downloadable? Soundcloud doesn't work because I need it to be accessible only by link.
I'm glad you decided to continue with the vibes established with the first volume! This one is a very solid, very sonically interesting followup and I like it quite a bit, though I did notice that some of the track endings are a bit abrupt. Listening to the two together should be fun!
Highlights for me this time around: "The Blowout Furnace", "He and Her", "Ur Spaceshipppp", "Rokurobi", "Night Talk 3" and "Prelude to Elephantface".
Love the little hints at Noxxo in the opening and closing tracks, too. ^__^
the combined volumes are uploading now actually. I put in some bonus tracks ("Greyneck Woodrails" and "re: The Collapse of The Dolphin Bridge in 2005", cut takes from the first album) too, just because.
I think if the Magic Planet series grows to enough installments, I'm just gonna do what Madlib did with Medicine Show and release a "brick" that's just all of them in one huge box.
I feel kind of insecure because he's producing some like, interludes as well (he's also a producer under the name Little Vision) so the contributions to the album are gonna be kinda lopsided.
ive reached a point where i might be comfortable enough with my technical skill to put out a full length thing but i still want to find a place i am comfortable with stylistically
production is spot on, sound palette is perfect, structure is perfect, and that melody is absolutely gorgeous, lonely ghost wandering through an automated hr giger futureworld shit. please do more stuff like this
i rly like it as it is. the intro sound is really good, it hits that kind of creepy-hovering-spaceship vibe really well
the hats sound a lil weird listening back but like they just sound weird, not bad? like id be interested to hear how they were supposed to sound but again i like them as is
Comments
i liked The Blowout Furnace especially
why did you consider cutting them?
i see what you mean though
I did leave it in :P
Pretty sure nothing is undownloadable, if people can listen to it they can download it given the right software.

Your beat is perfect for it, though.
Assassin poems, Poems that shoot
guns. Poems that wrestle cops into alleys
and take their weapons leaving them dead

Dance-y track I'm working on. Currently lacks lyrics, vocals, mastering, title.
