i've found a good way to handle it is importing another song into your daw as an audio file and putting it down next to your track, then trying to imitate what's going on in the beginning there in terms of when elements start coming into play and whatnot using the things you already have in your track.
then you remove that track you're copying and fiddle about with it some more until it clicks
eventually you'll develop a better feel for how to start things off and be able to not do that
Speaking of outros, I finally got the groundwork laid for the finale track on w/e and holy shit I love it a lot (and I hope you guys will too)
It starts off very Gomez-y but then turns into a dancey sorta thing with a Rasselbocked bass and it sounds real cool and ending-y and I really want to release it but I don't want to do so prematurely so I think I'll just save it for the album's final release. I can't wait to drop this whole thing ^_____^
naney this track is sick youve got some proper huge-hovering-alien-spaceship synths going on and the drum programming is spot on. i almost feel still that the drums are still kinda too loud in the mix but it's a minor thing tbh and if you did change it might ruin a lot of how the song works so idk its reallly good as it is
the way you dropped those few seconds of amen in to bring the drums back in was fucking badass in particular, i audibly did a little 'oh hell yeah' irl at that
im uploading something i made at 4 this morning that i don't remember making very clearly, it's inspired by Stunt Rock and also a bunch of old computer music i was listening to on ubuweb
Not sure if it's the mic, but the first one feels almost a little imbalanced towards the vocals in terms of volume. I think it might mostly be the mic making any 's' sounds too sharp, though.
It isn't necessarily the kind of music I typically listen to, though, so I don't have much of a basis to compare it to in other terms. Neat, though.
It's because the mic is shit (I'll be getting a better one), so I had to amplify it and remove the noise. The amplification for A Walk in the Woods (chronologically the first one) was too small, so I over-amplified the other one, and these factors combined means the vocals are shite.

I'm still at a loss as to how the final track should sound, but I'm making progress, which is nice

i enjoyed it very much, as far as i heard, but i was interrupted just over a third of the way in.
But what i heard was really excellent, like, your best yet i think.
i fixed up that track i posted yesterday so now it feels more organic structurally speaking i think
