Mentally, it gives me images of an old black-and-white surrealist film. Probably something especially Lynchian taking place in a desert.
It doesn't really go anywhere though, or at least nowhere I can follow it. It gets a bit trippier and heavier later on, but it doesn't really change, which is a problem my own music also has. I admit I had to pause a couple times because while I don't actually think it sounds bad, it's kind of giving me a headache, given the description that accompanies it, I suspect this is not entirely an unintentional affect.
^^^ It's missing the vocals, and I intend to shanghai Naney into some beatcraft there, so it is unfinished. But yes, the vibe is supposed to be disconcerting and a little disturbing. Given that the lyrics that I wrote this around (which I originally wrote several years ago) revolve around images of fevers, drinking and eye-gouging, it fits.

if that is the intended target then you are a marksman.
It would still work with them, if only over a few bars. Kind of like Britten's setting of "The Sick Rose": Mostly instrumental, but with just a little vocal part snuck in there.
im in a band now, and i do drums and vocals for them, at the same time, which essentially makes me phil collins. fuck.
we have some songs which i quite like (high speed punk stuff/sprawling 10 minute minimalist almost-post-rock beast), and some songs which i dont like so much (the ones the bassist wrote lel) so im gonna see if i can get the better ones recorded for you all to listen to
I have been working on a track using 50-EDO and I got an amazing idea for a little melodic background thing using a harmonic-based scale and weird polyrhythms that I think will really sound cool.
It's mostly a loose connection of ideas at this point, I will probably split it into at least two tracks, and some stuff needs to be cut out.
Also, Forever & Ever may not see release. I've found myself wondering if I'm really wanting to put more depressing winter music out into the world right now.
Interesting track. I like it. I would love to see you expand it, but keep it as one continuous piece in multiple parts.
Release the tape if you think it's worth releasing or don't if you don't, but do not let that be the deciding factor, please. Music that fits how one feels can be very cathartic.
Hey I got a rather specific question, I previously had a song up on my soundcloud under the Pink Kokane alias called "Really Really Big Sky". It had a couple downloads before I took it down, do any of you happen to have a copy of it?
I ask because I want to finally release this Pink Kokane EP, but that particular song was lost when my old laptop bricked. If not, it's not a huge loss, just annoying.
I would appreciate the remix too but I'll save that for the first PK release that goes up on bandcamp, this one I'm just popping up on Dropcanvas or something.
but then a guy with a hurdy gurdy showed up, and i had a jam with him, so there is an extant recording of me having a jam with a cool hurdy gurdy dude. we have no way o get it off the camera at but this will happen at some point, and you can listen to me. and a guy playing a hurdy gurdy. it owned.
i'm not sure about the drums, like, at all, either the beat itself or the sound. the snare particularly just sounds kinda flat. but i like what is going on underneath them
also i made a thing. needs to develop more + earlier + it needs to be louder + im gonna add a proper 4 to the floor kick to it so it aint finished but i think i have a good foundation? im not sure at the sound it is kind of ghost box-sounding
I like what you've got so far, Sunny! Just needs a bit of a volume increase and some expansion, as you said. But good job on getting that down.
Also, all this music talk made me want to try a new thing out, and... I think it's safe to say it might be one of my best songs this side of "Electronic Simpatique". Kinda serves as a nice showcase of my different styles. (And it only uses 3 loops besides the drums!)

And if you're only going to listen to one thing I upload from this session, wait until I put "Catholic" up.
This and the above are from the same project bones, and include most of the same samples.

I was meaning to actually ask you if you'd possibly be interested in contributing vocals in places on this album.
neat announcement (read the track description).

are you ready to dance in a funky manner?
I don't listen to very much Ariel Pink though so that may be a bad comparison.
Anyway, I've done this. That sample is exactly what you think it is.
im not sure how this happened, i was making this kinda dusty techno thing and it turned into this vaguely dub-y hip-hop thing
sounds vaguely TG-ish idk
Currently kinda hesitant to share anything major.
Also I sort of wish I had that like, auto-scratch plugin (I forget what it's actually called) in FL. But alas.
Also also, what's that sample?
