I enjoyed this even if I do not generally like breakcore (I think this is breakcore?)
could I possibly have the (I'm sure quite complicated) stems for this?
also how does one do the thingy where you make the synthesizer pitch up and down and modulate real fast. Still haven't figured that out and it could be useful for Pink Kokane tracks.
Use a monophonic synth patch and switch on the "glide" function, then hold the lower note while you move on and off the higher note. Because it can only play a single note at once (as the name indicates), it will move to the other automatically; if the glide is pronounced, it will slide up and down between the notes rather dramatically.
Anyway, I've been trying to get out of the habit of posting half of my albums on my soundcloud page before they're out, however, I think that this is one of the more unusual things I've ever done, and I think some people here will quite appreciate its oddness.
I was referring to Mo's track, actually. It has a lot of small details and little illusory effects that would probably make it very interesting in that sort of altered state.
I could call in a friend or two, but I think that would be a bit weird. "Hey, X, get high and listen to this track that one of my 'net acquaintances made!"
The snare sound is pretty flat, and the other drum sounds are mostly just serviceable, but the drum programming itself is very good and the synth parts are, as ever, rather lovely. And by lovely in this case, I mean portentous and spacey in a very pleasing way.
^^ Find and interesting recording of someone drumming, cut it up and feed the samples into a sequencer. That, or get creative with how you treat your drum patterns. Alternately, do what The Human League did and create drum sounds by adding together synth tones and noise in different ways.

Stacking synths and noise to make false drum samples is actually much easier than it sounds. It just takes a lot of time. It will guarantee that your drum patterns sound pretty darn unique, however.
Finally, I have no idea what to do with this. I was thinking of sending it to Stripes Solid since he's always asking for beats on twitter. Problem being I have to like, finish it first.
Anyway, no new music yet buuuuuut I'm announcing a thing
coming this November............. it's
This is (or will be) the title of my new album! And hopefully this time around it'll be a real, bona fide, 30 minute journey into the musical mind of Tre. Some tracks from Esoteric Pads and all of the stuff I've done after that will be on it, as well as a few surprises and, perhaps, a collaboration or two. I'm excited! I've got most of the material done but because I know I'm terrible at holding to release dates I'm not making a hard and fast one just yet. Expect it sometime in November, though.

Two are announcements. These being that The Fog-Light Window is about half done, and the Pink Kokane EP is about a third done.
In relation to that second point, here is the full Pink Kokane version of "Tombs of Antioch". It is a much-altered remix of something that will appear on The Fog-Light Window.

dubstep fun yay woo
To record vocals, or not to record vocals? That is the question.
Eh. Whatever, enjoy the track. May be part of a new EP/album/collection/sumthinorother at the end of the month. Nothing's final, but still.
I feel so good about putting out something that I really really like again. Here, listen.

so it turns out I haven't totally lost my composition ability. That's good. Sample source for the curious.
