is a good thing and I'm enjoying it so far. I, Witness is my favorite. Generally it seems this one's at its best when it goes into that trippy glitch sort of stuff.
Also your transitions make me jealous. I could barely tell when I, Witness became Superbillowy, which is not a bad thing.
Also, Naney, go listen to that thing that I did the art for. It's cool and stuff.
Although I am excited that you have five tracks, even if they sound nothing alike. Maybe if enough of them are similar, you could release little two-song single-things.
I was thinking of sending you some stems and possibly filling out the other half of the project that way? I think I've showed you all the projects I've done, but unless you've got more stems to send me I'm not sure I can make anything else out of those couple songs.
That could work. I need to fix Garageband before I can do anything worthwhile (or set up the other computer and get to work on that), but that sounds like a plan. I could send you even more random stems and audio detritus too, if you are so inclined.
FL Flowstone - Flowstone is the successor to the original Synthmaker program. Now including the Ruby high level programming language. Not only can you still create Synths, Effects but also control external hardware with support for USB devices, I/O cards, Wi-Fi, webcams and audio hardware. It’s true… connected to the right robot, FL Studio is the first DAW in the world that can now make you a coffee!
I should like to hear a little more low end in the track (and perhaps a more overt rhythmic centre), but the basic idea is pretty interesting and I like how you bring everything together. Makes me think of what kind of approach you would bring to a footwork or breakcore track, actually.
It's a subset of Chicago juke—itself a type of house music—intended to accompany the street dancing style of the same name. It tends to be minimal and rhythmically frantic.
Or, in the case of "Nice Girls", for painting a perfect picture of a creepy stalker with loud guitars and soft vocals. But then again, that's using a minor variant...
This talk of weird games with sample-based polyrhythms reminded me of this EP that I did a while ago. The first half of the first track is kind of a sardonic love letter to speedcore: It's in 23/16, with one layer consistently in one tempo and another speeding up and slowing down over it. The second track is a straight 17/16 experiment with pitch-shifted big band samples harmonised in neutral sevenths; and the last track is a bunch of effected guitar loops and cutups playing off each other in multifarious rhythmic relationships, including one 5:4:3 polyrhythm toward the beginning.
Translation: I dicked around with silly rhythms and I kind of liked what happened. You reminded me of that, so I brought it up. Thank you.
seeing as i'm feeling comfortable with my progress, i guess i'll divulge a few more things about my work so far. i'm doing a kinda demdike stare dub techno/experimental/dark ambient/drone thing, with several tracks done and whatnot, so expect it within the next few months
I would actually like to hear someone rap over that. Or, as weird as it might sound, under that, like the sound is subsuming them. Maybe something halfway between a proper flow and breathless spoken word, giving the sensation of being haunted or hunted.
I would like that, but most of the rappers I know seem to have gotten big heads lately and I don't think Stripes Solid (the only one who hasn't) would really want it.
also if it wasn't glaringly obvious, it's built around "Smokestack Lightning". There's also a sample of the Wildnerness Theme from Diablo II.
The beginning of that track sounds uncannily like Swans' "A Screw (Holy Money)" from the B-side of the A Screw 12". (I prefer the single version itself and the take from Holy Money itself, but that's irrelevant here.)
Yes, you made a track that sounds like industrial-era Swans. Shockingly so. How does that feel?

Second chord's a German +6, which is the root beer of weird chords. I think that's the first time I've heard it in an electronic song.
i enjoyed this thing
procrastination or not its well done
it's been awhile since I posted anything new, but here.
hopefully I haven't lost my touch.
sometimes i think that yes you can be limited by the software you have
then i remember that Cloudkicker made his first couple albums with a Behringer amp and the default Logic plugins/effects and im like 'welp'
