  • Common sense tells you that people who live alone use a greater
percentage of their income on regular living expenses compared to
    couples.

When you dissect the average person's monthly budget, the
basics include rent or mortgage, utilities, cable and Internet,
cellphone, groceries, entertainment, transportation expenses, and loan
payments, says Mitchell Weiss, adjunct professor of finance at the
University of Hartford. "When two people come together, many of these
monthly expenses would be fully or partially consolidated," Weiss says.

    Some
singles view their increased costs as a penalty for living alone. For
instance, at the grocery store, "single servings" of meat and other
items cost more per ounce than the family-size varieties.

    "There's
really no avoiding the singles' penalty," says Deana Arnett, senior
planning consultant at Financial Planning Services in northern Virginia.
"That's why budgeting, in a lot of ways, is even more critical for
single people. It really depends on how extreme you're willing to be
with budgeting and lifestyle items. It is really a matter of
prioritizing and deciding how much you are willing to sacrifice."

    Once
you decide where you can cut corners, living alone doesn't have to be a
burden. Here are some solutions for saving money in your budget.

    Are
you ready to clean up your life?

    The Clean Sweep Program
is a checklist of 100 items which, when completed, give one complete personal
freedom. These 100 items are grouped in 4 areas of life with 25 in each
group: Physical Environment, Well-being, Money and Relationships. These
4 areas are the cornerstone for a strong and healthy life and the program
helps a person to clean up, restore and polish virtually every aspect
of his/her life. The program takes between 6 - 24 months to complete.

    Objective

The participant's goal is to get a score of 100 out of 100. The objective
of the program is for the participant to get complete about 100 possible
incompletions in their life. Incompletions are those physical, emotional
or mental items, which are in some way not resolved in the current moment.
Incompletions of any kind drain energy. That is, they require energy to
live with, given it takes work to keep us whole when there is something
    in the space. To have full integrity (like a complete circle) is normal;
the program gives one a way to get there in a natural way.

  • John William Coltrane (Hamlet, North Carolina, September 23, 1926 – Huntington, New York, July 17, 1967) was an American jazz saxophonist and composer.

American jazz great John Coltrane emerged in the 1950s, playing tenor and soprano sax with Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk. A leader of “hard bop”, in the 1960s
he led his own groups and changed the face of jazz with experimentation
and improvisation, his later recordings reflecting his belief that
music was a form of spiritual expression.
Sometimes called simply ‘Trane, his recordings include Giant Steps (1959), My Favorite Things (1960), Olé (1961) and A Love Supreme (1964). In his later recordings he collaborated on avante-garde music with his wife, Alice Coltrane (b. Alice McLeod, 1937-2007), who had a career in her own right.

The band sometimes called Coltrane’s “classic quartet” of the early
1960s included McCoy Tyner (piano), Elvin Jones (drums) and Jimmy
    Garrison (bass).

Despite a relatively brief career (he first came to notice as a sideman
at age 29 in 1955, formally launched a solo career at 33 in 1960, and
was dead at 40 in 1967), saxophonist John Coltrane was among the most
important, and most controversial, figures in jazz. It seems amazing
that his period of greatest activity was so short, not only because he
recorded prolifically, but also because, taking advantage of his fame,
the record companies that recorded him as a sideman in the 1950s
frequently reissued those recordings under his name and there has been a
wealth of posthumously released material as well.

  • “Euclid and the Pale Blue Dot” is a wonderfully full and brilliant ambient rock piece. All the tracks are instrumental and most of them rely heavily on a incredibly low monster growl of upright bass strings.

While the record stands as a fascinating piece by itself, even more
depth is found within the the purpose of the album. The album is a
tribute to Eric Mecalf, the artists brother who died tragically in a
rock climbing accident. The album artwork takes on a new meaning with
this realization, a haunting photograph of a young man looking down from
a mountain top (most likely Eric), and amongst the greenery we can see a
small body of water off in the distance, a “Pale Blue Dot”.

All of the proceeds from this album will go to “The American Alpine
Club” an organization that supports climbing safety and environmental
conservation, something that Eric held close to his heart.

You can purchase “Euclid and the Pale Blue Dot” by Basscausality for only four dollars here.
