The Heavens Arena arc is probably the most normal in the show, but it is basically the exposition arc and a somewhat elaborate setup for what happens in the next arc, which is... where HxH begins to show you *exactly* what kind of series it is, when all is said and done.
i really hope the anime kept the ending because that was awesome
i am of course not referring to explosion whatever. i am referring to boring harem setup ending in one of his suitors getting a sex change and going out with the one who was intersex anyway, and the man himself getting with the huge monstrous hybrid transferred to the body of an alien clone of his ex girlfriend who was also used as a womb for said hybrid, because that is a good way for romance to end
Watched up to episode 51 of HxH. The Kurapika vs. Uvogin fight was amazing, and the ending of 51 was something to behold. Got some other thoughts, but I wanna see how the rest of the Yorknew arc plays out first.
Also: "Also, the boss actually added a rule this time." "A rule? What?" "Go absolutely crazy."
Y'know, it's very difficult to find pictures of Hiromu Arakawa, and in an odd way, I think that explains why.
Kinda lost here. What explains what?
Think about it like this: You're a very attractive woman in a very male-dominated field, but you want to make sure that people think of you first and foremost for your work, not as "that hot chick who happens to draw manga." Hell, even if you were kind of homely or just average, some guys would still make it about your appearance. So what do you do? Make sure that people don't see a whole lot of your actual face.
The same principle probably applies to Ume Aoki. It's even harder to find pictures of her, if I'm not mistaken.
Nah, I didn't get that vibe. It seemed to me more like, "Wow, this person who writes this thing I like also happens to be really pretty!" Which is a valid observation.
Explain further so I can discuss this. Because while Greed Island is nowhere near my favourite arc I still have serious feelings. Is it where he sacrifices his arm like Hisoka did? Because yes, that was hardcore as fuck.

yes
That whole sequence is just really cool. The way that fight ends is just beautiful. Really one of the best moments in the series, despite the arc itself being kind of meh for me overall.
Oh, it definitely is. "Ehhhh" by HxH standards is still solid by most anime standards. It's just that the highs (or lows, emotionally speaking, as they often are) blow most series of its kind out of the water.
I'm going to do one eventually. It's going to be tougher than, say, Utena, let alone something concise like Kaiba or Alien Nine, but it would totally be worth it. It is probably the single best teen action series I have watched, although the other contenders for that title are more... ambiguous in the distinction, like FMA, Trigun and the aforementioned rose-and-sword parade.
I prefer to take a lot of time before rewatching something because my mind tells me I could be watching something new that could be just as cool, but I've kind of been reversing myself on that given the understanding that I'll still have time for new stuff and the old stuff makes me happy and can even get better on rewatch.
I can sometimes have a poor memory for details, so I'm often able to rewatch or read long things a couple times before I'm worn out of them. I'll still notice new things, or be excited upon seeing something I'd forgotten but now remember. This is especially true for all visual media - I'm better at remembering things I read rather than hear/see.
Starting to wonder increasingly why people consider being an experienced anime watcher is a good thing.
Watching lots of anime -- or going through lots of media, at least doing so quickly, and possibly at all -- just tends to cause things to run together. And lessens the appreciation for any one story. Causes people to think in tropes and archetypes.
And then there's that whole "elitism" business. "Your show sucks because the story is badly written." Or somesuch. Why the fuck do you care? If someone enjoyed it, why do you so hate that? You jelly that you can't feel that pleasure anymore?
Be more innocent. Be less judgemental. Come in with a blank slate. Become a child again. Stop being experienced. Discard your filters and lenses. Stop overanalyzing and being so damn critical, and start immersing yourself.
I think you're unnecessarily generalizing from personal experiences, but I do not actually have time to elaborate on that right now, that first post is just... something.

Sometimes it feels rather cathartic to make...well, "something", happen.

thanks nihei, sincerely, we need more people as willing to do this as you
Like, seriously; she's incredibly stunning.
