How did you feel about Zootopia? I enjoyed it but I felt like it keyed in on the whole "furry" thing a bit too well, trying to be like a furry Harry Potter. It didn't hook me the way it hooked so many others.
Not perfect, but surprisingly sharp-edged for a modern kids' movie in a way that was actually effective. A solid modernisation of Disney's '60s beast fable aesthetic.
^ It kind of is, but it's also pretty unequivocal in its opposition to authoritarian populist rhetoric, which is... timely. Also, while Nick isn't Robin Hood sexy, he ain't bad. Good character.
It probably could have been clearer in its message, if only so I wouldn't have to hear every hot take say it wasn't clear enough about its message a dozen times.
hello i'm co-opting this thread for my own question
w/e i see canine furries they always got ears that stick up, like huskies or shiba inus
but where is that sweet floppy eared dog representation?? i can only think of isabelle and the other dogs from animal crossing. DOGS THAT DON'T LOOK LIKE WOLVES DESERVE LOVE TOO
Comments
idk
most people i met had some variations on "i think this is too charitable towards the police, but i want to lick nick wilde's feet" or w/e
