  Since the species is normally migratory, Canada geese are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
  
  But what about individual Canada geese that remain in one location year-round and do not migrate?

  I didn't have to run very far, but yes. I mean, I don't know what would actually have happened if it had caught up but I didn't feel like finding out.
