Got to the first bonfire and my eyes have still not exploded with rage at Miyazaki-sensei's hideous betrayal of the fanbase with this rotting corpse of a franchise
So this guy on Twitter had a huge giant tweetstorm about how awful the DLC is, and how the first boss is a nightmarish unfun way too hard bastard who you have to get absurdly lucky to defeat.
This is literally my first and second try
And like, I don't think I'm unusually good at Dark Souls or anything
I have a friend who told me to record how many times I died in Sen's Fortress (I stopped counting after 50 or so. I'm a slow and steady kind of person.). Because he did it without dying.
Still haven't played Dark Souls 3 yet, but the boss I hard the hardest time with in the entire series was easily the Fume Knight from the Crown of the Old Iron King DLC. I think it took me somehwere around 40 times to beat that boss.

I have actually never beaten the Fume Knight. I tried for several days and then just gave up.
The DLCs for Dark Souls 2 were great fun but I don't think I ever actually finished any of them

the thing I hate about Sen's Fortress is that once you know how to do it you can get through it in like five minutes.
there's a lot of just like, weird nonsense in the first game like that.
Which no one remembers because everyone just rushed the Four Kings fight to join the Darkwraiths and would then invade in Anor Londo until judgment day.

I'm not even bad at games! I just get stuck on weird bullshit.

Even at the end, when I was just clearing out optional stuff so I could go flame-snuffing, I'd still end up getting owned by the swinging axes
Every single thing in this article is bad and wrong and also I'm not sure the writer actually played any of the games they listed as being Dark Souls-likes.

But DYREEEEEEE If the hosts of the the most popular Souls podcast, one that started because of their love for the series, feel tired and sad and coming up empty with nearly every aspect of The Ringed City, then it’s a good sign From should be putting their baby to bed.
From Software made 15 Armored Core games they have absolutely no shame about letting a series go on however long.
On that note, the entire article basically was just about how the lore got less interesting in Dark Souls 3 compared to previous games but it seems like the actual problem is that these people shouldn't have gotten so attached to the lore in the first place? It's pretty clear from playing any Armored Core game (or even just Dark Souls 1 really) that From Software just never really cared at all about writing stories and just likes mashing together cool-sounding genre words.
Oh the person who wrote that article also wrote this article.

and take their weapons leaving them dead

Dark Souls was a mistake after all.
