  • THE MONKEY IS JUST SITTING THERE

    THERES MORE MONKEYS

IT'S SOMEHOW, INTENSELY STRESSFUL, AND AS BORING AS WATCHING like something super boring

i actually learned about this in anthropology rather than ethology. it's cool that they actually have you do it? (I mean, cool that you're doing it, i don't want to do it, it sounds boring)
  • and the TA said that he loves doing this?

he's talking about doing field work in the mountains and following individuals around up and down the dang thing and internally im just like "this is the most nightmarish thing i could imagine doing for a living"

    this is an anthropology course

    and it is boring

while being stressful because like, there's no do-overs, and they keep doing shit while you're writing shit down and it's just AAAAAAAA
  • what's weird about this is that im under the impression that the rest of this course is gonna be focused on paleoarchaeology, which is

pretty light on behavioral observations to say the least
  • i think it probably appeals to people who enjoy just sitting there and observing the world around them, which certainly isn't everyone's thing
