Arianism, in Christianity, is a Christological[1] concept that asserts that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was begotten by God the Father at a point in time, is distinct from the Father and is therefore subordinate to the Father, but the Son is also God.[2] Arian teachings were first attributed to Arius (c. AD 250–336), a Christian presbyter in Alexandria, Egypt. The teachings of Arius and his supporters were opposed to the prevailing theological views held by proto-orthodox Christians, regarding the nature of the Trinity and the nature of Christ. The Arian concept of Christ is that the Son of God did not always exist but was begotten by God the Father.[2]
I was almost tempted not to say a word in this thread given how perfect it ended up being without me, but I couldn't not express my appreciation for it.
You know, this post is funnier if you trace the origins (HA) of Rayman's name: the persisting urban legend (which I'm pretty sure is legit) is that he was named after the ray-tracing software Ubisoft used to animate the first game.
While I'm on the subject, he and most characters in the first game are missing limbs as a way of reducing the load on the animators-- animating a set of floating body parts was easier in the engine than connecting everything, and it ended up giving Ray a relatively unique look too. (Yes, I know Dynamite Headdy came out and did it first. No, I don't care. )
