  My puzzlehunt team has been using Slack since Mystery Hunt this past January and we like it a lot.
  
  I prefer it over Discord, honestly.

  Slack is Discord but tied to a browser, I see no real advantage honestly.

  I'm pretty sure Slack has desktop apps, and know for a fact there are Android and iOS versions, so not really tho?
  
  I like Slack's integration with more third party apps and stuff within the app enough that I would use it if my friends were there, but Discord gained more ground with my crowd so I use it more regularly.

  I'm pretty sure Discord is the one that ripped off Slack, but Slack basically lifted its whole concept direct from IRC save for some modernization here and there. Ain't nothing new under the sun, I guess.

  • Much easier to create and access servers than teams
  • No "we only show you the 10,000 latest messages"

  Slack's UI design is a little nicer than Discord's but all my friends use Discord so that wins out for me
