I like to believe humans are good, despite what feels like mounting evidence to the contrary. But I feel that is skewed by the generally comfortable, supportive environment I've lived in for much of my life.
I've found that the bell curve argument works best. Humans are inherently two things: self-serving and altruistic. The wholly noble and the wholly vile are both rarities
