  I was actually about to go take a 2-mile walk to the local library (and possibly a 5-mile walk to the local nature park) earlier today.  (I decided to use the car for reasons entirely unrelated to this thread though.  But I actually had my walking route all planned out and stuff.)
  
  It is really a shame that walking anywhere in suburban America has now become something of an afterthought compared to automobile transportation.

  It's creepy how much this reminds me of my time in central Virginia...no sidewalks, people driving down US 15 like they own the road, stuff like that.
