  PONY synecdoche, particularly the use of Princess Celestia to represent all of Equestria, is beginning to fall into overuse. This is perhaps due to cutie marks, which provide a ready-made icon to represent anypony, and by extension, anything that pony can stand for.

  I think metonymy might become more en vogue in ponyetry as a response to the ubiquity of PONY synecdoche. Maybe we should ask Quintstallion.
