"How's your night going guys?"

A big 18-wheeler truck trying to make a right turn from the left hand lane took out the exterior of my driver-side rear passenger door as I was passing it on a highway at 45 mile per hour.

Not going to blame the guy. Though I just assumed he was changing lanes and not turning from that lane as I'd never seen anyone do that before and by the time I realized what he was doing, I didn't exactly have time to stop.

Also, my daughter was in the car. So that part wasn't fun either.

Still, she's not hurt, I'm not hurt. I need my car to be fixed, but it runs.

So...I guess my night is OK.

Yeah, we're good. The truck didn't hit solidly enough that anything catastrophic happened. And I managed to regain control after I went fish tailing.

Thankfully the roads where nice and dry.

On the plus side, just finished a nice e-mail chain with my manager where he shot down a horrible suggesting that was going to get us past a project roadblock, but make our end product look like crap. This was after I got shot down for saying otherwise, but my manager took interest in what was happening and realized some thing very stupid was going to be decided that would have far more reaching impact than what our Program Manager was thinking (who is also a good guy and my friend, he was just WRONG this time).

I'll be nice enough to celebrate the "I told you so!" parade here at my house with alcohol instead of at the office with me laughing in my co-workers faces and constantly highfiving myself.

So, we can upgrade my night from "Shitty, but everyone is safe." To "good".
