    are they actually trying to trademark it? there's, like, published books using the term in their titles.

    They're rebranding as the incredibly awkward "Fandom powered by Wikia", presumably because they can't just trademark the term "Fandom" on its own.

    This is one of those branding decisions that just leaves me like "...you think that's a good idea, eh?"
