On Thursday, Maryland will be the 8th US state to legalise same sex marriage when the Governor signs the bill.

I don't really like the wording of this thread. Don't get me wrong, I agree with gay marriage, but calling areas that don't agree with your views "uncivilized" seems short-sighted and arrogant to me.

Hopefully more states will follow suit and eventually people will stop wasting money fighting these laws. It seems rather inevitable to me that all the states will legalize gay marriage eventually.

Being the last state to legalize it will probably look similar to being the last state to ban slavery in a hundred years. It's not something one would really want associated with their state.
