hypothesis: Zardoz + the ending of Time Bandits = Texhnolyze

  • I'm not familiar with any of these things so I can't comment but I do know one of my offsite TVT buds likes Texhnolyze

Who? I must make their acquaintance because it seems like such a niche thing...
  • Sup bitches, witches, Haters, and trolls.
texnolyse has some relation to lain, right?  i should prolly watch it at some point in my life
  • They're similar but not actually connected afaik.

ABe and Konaka were involved in both but aside from some aesthetic and thematic similarities, they're pretty much completely unrelated.

^ Different directors: SEL had Ryutaro Nakamura (Kino's Journey, Ghost Hound); Texhnolyze had Hiroshi Hamasaki (Shigurui, Steins;Gate).

They are both personal favourite directors of mine, and both work well with Konaka's writing style and ABe's designs and... vibes. It's hard to explain his involvement with Texhnolyze because officially he was just the art guy but that's a bit misleading.
  • kill living beings
    close enough.

ghost hound was a fucking disappointment pass it on

Yeah, most people seem to feel that way, but the sound and shot composition and overall style in the one episode I saw was pretty exceptional and some of the imagery was pretty disquieting so I'm guessing it's more a plot implosion thing.

having seen haibane's pre-notes and shiro ame, i have concluded that abe is beyond my comprehension

    you are exactly correct.

early on in the show there's one bit that still comes off to me as fucking incredible sound design, which is not something a fool like me notices often
