  I like that first one because after using the chimes on the radio for so long it makes sense that you'd try to represent them visually when your network makes the jump to television

  The snake solved the issue of making the logo look good in motion decades before that was much of a concern but if they tried bringing it back today the millions who have never seen it would shit their pants and go OH MY GOD THEY GOT RID OF THE PEACOCK
