That said, if you've ever had to deal with someone who mispronounces a word and then acts like their way is the right way and you're misinformed or in the wrong, you know my pain. Particularly if the pronunciation they are using is counterintuitive in some way.
I have seen that, and it's funny, but kind of inaccurate. Final -gh is weird for specific historical reasons, but the fact that it can sound like so many things now is the odder part to me.
I used to work with a guy who insisted facade was pronounced with a hard K sound. He didn't believe me when I told him it was supposed to have the French drooling ç.
