I mean in all seriousness hip-hop lyrics tend to be under-enunciated and usually on purpose since they're meant to more clearly mimic how people actually talk, and there's often a layer of artistic abstraction on top of that (more than one if you're listening to like Busdriver or someone).
If I can understand something like fucking "Speedom"
that reminds me of the time i absolutely baffled several people in my high school chemistry course by being able to understand the lyrics in a death metal song
I've always had trouble being able to hear words in even non-challenging songs. It's been a theme ever since I was a child. I've gotten better about it, definitely, but in a lot of music the words tend to blend together into texture for me.
It's not a bad thing, but it does mean I end up googling lyrics perhaps more often than the average person when I just absolutely can't puzzle them out, but would like to know what they say.
I saw a guy perform this at a bar karaoke night to absolute perfection not too long ago. I was literally in awe.
I feel like my lyric comprehension ability is curiously mixed. I mean, there are some situations where I'll see people transcribe a lyric as something that I know is completely off even if I can hear how they got there, but then there are other places where I just have no idea what a lyric is despite the fact that it's reasonably clear in the mix and not tragically enunciated.

i've tried to get better at it, but my hearing isn't that great, so that doesn't help
like when i was little i used to be really good at hearing and memorizing song lyrics, nowadays i always have to google them
I mean a ladyperson.
