Let's just say one of my subordinates at ABC Warner bought
Turner Field and its parking lot for me as a Christmas present but forgot to tell me until today.
Turner Field, originally built as Centennial Olympic Stadium, will be vacated by the Atlanta Braves after the 2016 season. After they leave, I intend to use most of the parking lot to build various studio and production facilities (TV broadcasting facilities and an animation studio), because ABC Warner's Turner Broadcasting is already based in Atlanta, and either leave the baseball diamond (denoting where Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium was) intact, or build a parking garage there to accommodate employees and keep their cars cool.
Also, the fate of Turner Field itself is up in the air. I was thinking of having the shell of the park rebuilt to be a broadcasting facility for ESPN and ABC Sports, and possibly house various eateries for the employees. The seating might be reduced or removed altogether. The actual baseball field would be preserved as a public good, to provide a scenic backdrop for TV if necessary, and to potentially host baseball events sanctioned by yours truly.
So how do I handle parking? The baseball stadium? Building on the parking lot?
Oh, and there's no plans to build a theme park here. Too little space for it, and even creating one as a sort of employee retreat or something might not be doable without screwing over the people who live in the houses nearby.
