My driver's license number is really short and simple because it's Oregon and I still don't know what it is without looking. There just aren't a lot of times I've had to use it.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
The STEM types here can't ever be up-front explaining this stuff
Sorry about that.
The speed of light (specifically speed of light in vacuum) is a constant quantity and a very important number in physics.
In 1983, the speed of light was used to define and standardize the length of the meter. Thus, the speed of light is defined to be exactly 299,792,458 meters per second.
The fact that it's a nine-digit number resulted in observations that it looks vaguely like a social security number, when written without the commas. This gave rise to the joke that 299-79-2458 is "God's Social Security Number".

I know like, half of my CA ID number, which is the same as my Driver's Permit # was. You'd think I'd know an alphanumeric assigned to me in '05 but you'd be wrong.
It sort of bothers me that WA's drivers licence "numbers" are primarily composed of letters.
It's not a number (and it IS denoted with a pound symbol, which would indicate a number! I'd accept it were it simply an ID) if only 3 of the 12 characters are, in fact, numbers!

I do have an ID card, which has a number, but I have never in my life had any reason to actually know that number.
