  I intentionally took that page out of context, so I can't expect anyone to understand it without the pages that came with it. The book is free, though!
  
  The joke was just supposed to be "lol, engineers use mathematical models to try and address social problems."
  
  Which, admittedly, is quite unfair of me, since mathematical models are quite useful when it comes to modeling poverty and such issues.
