Only once have I ever encountered a police officer actually enforcing the dead traffic signals. It seems most of the time, if there's a police officer available, they'll just direct traffic instead...which is sensible, but I'd like to see better enforcement of the dead traffic lights because compliance is so spotty.
Also, their frontman was a former member of the Spacemen 3, and if I am not mistaken wrote their best known song, "Walking with Jesus". They're probably not so much your sort of thing, as they're more overtly druggy and noisy and droney.
