as a great explorer who has discovered some extraordinary land from which he can never return to give his knowledge to the world: but the name of this land is hell.
But all the libraries and bookstores around here are like "Classic modern literature? LOL WE HAVE ONLY YA NOVELS AND SHAKESPEARE. SOMETIMES ALSO COMICS. GTFO"
Whenever I ask a B&N employee where I might find a specific book, or even a specific kind of book, I tend to get either ignored entirely or "uh....I dunno bro...".

Man, you just don't have any luck...
Maybe you where born unlucky...or you're a giant spider and everyone you meet is too frightened to help you or run screaming for fear that you would liquefy their insides with your spider venom.
Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
But sometimes you write bits and pieces of it without ever sharing it with anybody. This could be for any number of reasons.

That seems to reflect more of the store's political views than their ability to organize things.
No, the rest of the store is laid out similarly. As another for-instance. Manga and other graphic literature aren't grouped together, instead, Manga is in the Foreign Books section.
Also, Encyclopedias are arbitrarily lumped into two different categories. "Reference" and "Informational", I've yet to figure out what the difference is.

What? Why would those be two separate sections? I don't think I've ever seen that, and I'm glad I haven't.

I want to read it quite badly.

I can't imagine asking someone in B&N where to find something. More fun to just find the relevant area myself.

The local B&N ("local" here meaning "about two hours away") has among the most confusing setup of any store I've been to. Ever.
To give you an idea, The Bible is in the historical section, as opposed to the religious section.
...I feel spoiled.
It's fine.
Said store is in a mall, so I suspect politics--business or otherwise--are involved on some level. Allentown is sort of weird like that.

Before, the comics/manga were in one, really open section. Now they're in a small corner near the romance novels.
